How to expand your shoe collection on a budget

I'm wearing: Shoeddazle Jeezebel Strappy sandals (Get your first pair of shoes for $10 when you sign up for Shoedazzle VIP memebership) | Aldo Bag | Forever 21 top (old) - they have tons on their "Logo Shop" | Forever 21 skirt (old) - similar and only $13 - this one is on sale for less than $15 - this one is available in petite and regular
How many shoes are too many shoes? I'm not proud to admit that I think I own over 100 pairs ... and counting #sorrynotsorry. At this point you're probably thinking that I spend a lot of money on shoes, but I really don't. Truth is I'm more like a shoe hoarder that also knows where to scout the best deals! Here are some of the things I've learned over the years about shopping for shoes on a budget:
1. Wait until your favorite brands have sales
Some of the brands I recommend that I love and always have the best deals are:
Naturalizer: They're prices range from $80 to $150 but they often have promo codes for up to 50% off , they also put a lot of their stuff for sale at the end of the season or when they have low stock in a product. Another thing I love is that their shoes are the comfiest, I wrote a review of their spring styles here and styled a pair of pumps from day to night here .
Sam edelman: They usually have sales and promo codes for their employees or sister brands employees and they can get their shoes for as low as 50% off. I know this is not an easy one, but I you know someone , don't be affraid to ask them.
Steve Madden: This is my go-to place to shop for trendy shoes on a budget. I rarely see any promos on their website, but I've found that their outlet carries the same styles and they always have a clearance section with prices as low as $19.
2. Enroll in Shoedazzle VIP
I think suscriptions are a great way to stay in a budget IF you commit yourself to ONLY purchase something new through your suscription. It is almost as if you give you a monthly allowance to spend on shoes.
What I like abour Shoedazzle is that they have TONS of styles from classic pumps, to trendy heels, casual flats, and all kinds of sneakers and sandals. The VIP membership is about $35 per month which is about what a pair of shoes cost. However your first pair will be $10 after you enroll. Talk about savings! Another think I like is that you can skip a month, or just let the credits on your account and save them for any future purchase.
3. Don't be affraid to spend more on a classic or versatile pair of shoes.
I know we are talking about shopping on a budget but it's not all about the price, cost per wear is something we should think about when shopping. Think about this, getting a pair of neon yellow studded stilettos with 5 inches heel for 20 bucks sounds like a great deal right? But realistically, how many times are you going to wear those heels in a year? 1 or 2 tops, and only for a few hours because they're probably the most unconfortable shoes ever. On the other hand, getting a timeless pair of black leather pumps (these are my ABSOLUTE favorite and extremely comfy) for $200 sounds like a huge investement, however you're probably going to wear those more ofter and way more times. Considering you wear your "expensive" black pumps once a week for a year the cost per wear is about $3 (150 dollars/52 weeks = $2.8) VS the cost per wear of the neon pumps of $10 (or maybe $20).
4. Explore other options
If you're like me you're probably always shopping from the same stores all-the-time, why fix it if it's not broken? am I right? Well, NO! Change is good once in a while. Think about all the stores you've never shopped before, take a look and you'd be surprised of the things you'd find. For example, one day sneaking around target shoe section I realized their clearance section (in store) has shoes for as low as $5!!. On another ocassion while I was binge watching youtube videos I came accross these "walmart shopping hauls", I seriously had no idea they had so many cute shoes in Walmart and ... wait for it ... they also have premium brands. We're talking about Vince Camuto, Sam Edelman, Lord & Taylor , Lucky Brand , Badgley Mischka and more. I recently got these Nine West Pumps for less than $50 there!

2. Suscribete a Shoedazzle VIP
