A little bit over a year ago I partnered with El Yucateco on this post showing you my recipe to make Corn in a cup or Esquite. You guys loved it and it seems like the people over "El Yucateco" did too because they recently reached me out and asked me to write another recipe for them. Lucky me !

One of the things I love about this little blog of mine is having the opportunity to work with brands that I 100% love and support. El Yucateco is one of them! I always have a few of their Habanero Sauces on my pantry and I use them almost every day adding a few drops on my favorite dishes for a kick of spiciness, Its habanero sauce is also a main ingredient in a bunch of my recipes like my Smokey Habanero Skewers.

If you've been around for a while you probably know that I don't like to spend that much time in kitchen and honestly I'm not the best cook either. So I like to keep my recipes super simple and easy to make. This one is not the exception. All I did was getting a few pre-made skewers from my local grocery store, coat them with a mix of El Yucateco Red Habanero Sauce, garlic and butter, and then I grilled them! I know the word "habanero" can be intimidating for some but honestly the added butter reduces the spiciness of the Salsa and once they Skewers are cooked, you get more like a Smokey taste with a hint of spiciness rather than the kick you'll get using the salsa on it's own. If you're still unsure about it , substitute the Red Habanero for Green Habanero for a milder flavor or the Black if you want more of a kick. Sometimes I mix both!

I typically make these Skewers when we're having cookouts with friends. Grilling is always easier when you cook for a lot of people but don't worry if you don't own a grill, you can bake your Skewers in the over or cook the on the stove top on medium heat (it may take a little bit longer this way). Also This time I use pork skewers but you can also use this same recipe to make Chicken or beef Skewers. You can buy them pre-made like me or if you're a little bit more hands-on in the kitchen and make your own combo of meat and veggies. They're delicious either way.

 Ingredients:

 8 Pork Skewers
1/2 cup (or a full bottle) of El Yucateco Red Habanero Sauce
 1/4 cup of water
1 tablespoon of butter
 2 cloves or garlic
a dash of Oregano
Salt & pepper to taste
 olive oil
 Directions:

Mince the garlic and roast it on the stove top with a litte bit of olive oil for a few minutes. Then add El Yucateco red sauce, butter, oregano, salt, pepper & water.

Let it simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes. Coat the Skewers with the Sauce mix and throw them on the grill for 10 minutes. Flip the skewers until they're completely cooked. You'd do the same thing cooking them on the stove top. If baking, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake them for 5 minutes , turn the skewers over and bake for 10 more minutes.

Serve them with fresh squeezed lime and pair them with roasted corn in a cob to create the perfect summer cookout meal!
