Hanging out with friends is probably one of my favorite things to do, but some days I'm just in the mood to chill at home. Hosting a game night at home is the perfect way to have the best of both worlds: a laid back night and the company of some of your favorite people. We have been doing that a lot lately because the weather has been crazy, and days like that are meant to be spent at home! Here are some of my tips to plan a super casual game night at home with very VERY little work involved.
1. THE DRINKS
When you have a diverse crowd over having a "make your own" drink bar station is a great idea. All you have to do is having a big batch of one or two drinks, some optional garnishments like raspberries, blueberries and lime. Then put the alcohol that pairs well with them on the side. I love Wendy's exclusive Signature Beverages All-Natural Lemonade and Strawberry lemonade because they are a perfect mixer to create many different drinks. This time I paired them with Bacardi Limon. If you haven't tried Wendy's signature beverages paired with Bacardi Spirits, you're missing out... they are meant for each other!
I literally have a Wendy’s 2 blocks away from my house, which is super convenient. Find your nearest Wendy's Here.
2. THE FOOD
One thing you don't want to be doing during game night is cooking. Instead get some food to go! Aim for food options that guest can easily grab and eat while playing like Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich (which by the way pairs really well with the Strawberry lemonade).
Board games, cards and word games are good if you have a small group over. For groups of over 6 people interactive games are the way to go. You can always ask your guest to bring their favorite game, that will give you more options to choose from.
4. THE SEATING
Make sure to have enough space to confortably seat your guests while they're playing. Arrange your furniture in a semi circle around the coffee table , and set some cushions on the floor if you need some extra seating.
