My skin Care routine - UPDATED
7:00 AM
One of my first posts in this blog was about the skin care products I was using back then. I still love some of those products, but my skin care routine changed a lot ever since so I thought this was a great chance for me to introduce you to my current favorite skin care products, and help you find a new product to add to yours. For a reference, I have oily/ acne prone skin , but remember this is what works for me and is not necesarily going to work as well for you even if you have the same skin type as me. As a recommendation, always try a product for at least 7 days to see how you react to it. There are some brands that have travel size products and trial size kits, but you can always request a sample on the beauty counter of your favorite deparment/makeup store.
1. Take the makeup off
As soon as I go back home from work I remove my makeup with CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Makeup Remover, I love this one becase is very gentle but works wonders removing stubborn mascara and lipstick. On the other hand the liquid is a bit oily and it leaves your face greasy after, not a big problem if you wash your face after. I typically remove the oilyness with a tissue since I don't wash my face until night. When I'm on the go, I make sure to have with me The Honest Company 3-in-1 Facial Towelettes . I also have a package on my nightstand for those nights when I feel too lazy to wash my face after a GNO.
2. Cleansing
I use two different facial cleansers. At night I prefer a deep cleanser to make sure I'm removing til the last bit of makeup and dirt off my face. My favorite is DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. I already wrote a review about this one , and you can rad it HERE. On the mornings I use Philosophy 'purity made simple' one-step facial cleanser which I like because it cleans and hydrate my face at the same time. I actually started using this after I had a really bad breakout problem and it cleared out my skin in a week. Totally recommend this for someone with combination skin.
3. Exfoliate
Twice a week I use Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator . According to the description on Birchbox: This powerful exfoliator mimics the results of professional microdermabrasion, minus the potential for redness and sensitivity. ... Usualy other exfoliators irritate my skin but this one is surprisinly very gentle, and has helped me reducing the appearance of acne scars and dark spot and other imperfections.
4.Tone
I just started using a toner like a month ago, honestly I just went to Target and I chose the Botanics Shine Away Mattifying Toner just because it says is for oily skin. So far so good. It hasn't make my skean break out, which is always a plus, but I don't feel any significative difference since I started using it.
5.Moisturize
In the mornings I'm currently use OSEA Ocean Lotion, a light weight moisturizer thar dries almost instantly and doesn't leave the skin oily at all. Perfect for summer! By the way I got this on my summer Fab Fit Fun box (Subscribe HERE). At nights I use JUNETICS PURE ENERGY Night Cream, a moisturizer that not only hydrates my skin but also helps reenergize cells to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. Is never to early to start using antiaging products right?
6. Eyes
I finish my every day routine with a bit of JUNETICS eye cream on my undereye area and lids. This product is great brightening the underye area, but my favorite part is Its 5 point rollerball appicator that dispense the product with a cooling sensation that really helps reducing the puffiness on your eyes.
7. Something Extra
CLINIQUE Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
BIORÉ Self Heating One Minute Mask
Bliss Triple Oxygen Radiant Protection Energizing
Josie Maran Argan oil
